For hanging heights and spacing rules, see the Care & Hanging Guide.
Aspect Ratios (Shape)
Different rooms and walls favor different shapes. Pick the ratio first, then the size.
-
2:3 / 3:2 – Versatile rectangle for living rooms, above sofas, dining areas, corridors.
-
1:1 (Square) – Calm, graphic presence; ideal for sideboards, entries, and tight walls.
-
4:5 – Slightly taller shape; great above consoles, dressers, or in pairs.
Size Finder (Quick Rules)
-
Above furniture: Choose artwork that’s ≈ 2⁄3 the width of the item below (up to 3⁄4 on large walls).
-
Bottom clearance: Keep the bottom edge 18–25 cm (7–10 in) above sofas/consoles/headboards.
-
Eye‑level center: Aim for a 145 cm (≈57 in) centerline in most rooms.
-
Pairs/sets: Keep 5–8 cm (2–3 in) between pieces; align centers or bottoms.
-
Grids: Maintain 5–10 cm (2–4 in) gaps horizontally and vertically.
Room‑by‑Room Hints
-
Living room: 120×80 or 150×100 cm (or a balanced diptych).
-
Above sofa (≈210–240 cm wide): 120×80 cm single; or two 60×90 cm pieces.
-
Dining: 90×60 or 120×80 cm, centered over the table.
-
Bedroom: 100×150 cm vertical piece beside the bed; or 120×80 cm horizontal above the headboard.
-
Entry: 80×80 or 60×90 cm keeps impact without crowding.
The Floater Frame (Standard)
A floater frame creates a slim shadow gap around the canvas, making the artwork appear to float—clean, modern, and quietly luxurious.
-
Profile: Contemporary, minimal face with a subtle reveal.
-
Reveal (gap): Typically 5–8 mm around the canvas for a light shadow line.
-
Overall size: The frame adds approximately 2–3 cm (¾–1¼ in) to both width and height.
-
Finishes: Black, White, Gold, Brown, and Champagne.
Good to know: Floater frames are designed for canvas artwork and are displayed without glazing, preserving texture and depth.

Measuring & Ordering Tips
-
Measure the wall width and key furniture beneath; apply the 2⁄3 width rule to pick a size.
-
Mark with tape at the intended outer size (including the frame) to visualize proportion.
-
Check clearances to switches, sconces, and trim.
-
Confirm orientation (portrait/landscape) before ordering.
-
For sets: Plan total span (art + gaps) before choosing individual piece sizes.
